STARTING A BUSINESS

First off, I have to thank my wonderful husband for always encouraging me, and pushing me to pursue my dreams. Without him, I would not have started my business, or even thought I could have my own business.

While attending college, I always had the dream to be able to work from home, but also have a career. Choosing the path of Graphic Design had always been a dream of mine, and in December of 2018, I finally graduated with my Bachelors degree in Art and Design. Throughout my years of school, I was fine tuning my skills and becoming a better designer through the classes that I had taken. Once I graduated, I knew I wanted to start a business, but I kept putting it off. I was nervous that I was going to fail, that people wouldn't want me to create work for them, that I wasn't good enough, and the list goes on and on.

After moving back to the town that my husband and I grew up in, I knew the task of creating my business was getting closer and closer. I didn't know where to start to begin my business, and I was nervous. Luckily, with the help of my husband, I finally got the courage I needed to go apply for a business license and get my business off the ground.

There have also been some other great things that have helped get my business started, I had people in my little town speaking through word of mouth, and people started learning that I do in fact create art. I started having people reach out to me asking if I could help them create websites, logos, flyers, certificates, and more, and that has really boosted my confidence in starting this business.

So here we are, a month into getting started on my business and I am as excited as ever to finally get my feet off the ground! I am so excited to see where my business will take me, and how my art can continue to progress!
